Job demand in the cannabis industry is soaring–and not just on the West Coast. As the industry expands across the U.S., FlowerHire, a cannabis recruiting agency, compiled data of six-figure-salary job placements (salaries averaging $140,000/year) to measure year-over-year cannabis job growth. In 2021, 68% of employees placed in “executive, leadership, and management cannabis jobs” were based East of the Mississippi River, compared to 50% in 2020. Much of that growth took place in Florida, where placements in the Sunshine State jumped to 7.6% of FlowerHire’s total placements in 2021 from zero in 2020. In Pennsylvania, six-figure job placements by FlowerHire represented 8.5% of placements in 2021, compared to 1.1% in 2020.
